Does anyone know if a French Bulldog makes a good pet?

I am saving for my first dog, and have done some pretty extensive research on what dog would be right for me, and even though I want a smaller dog, I do not want one that looks like a sissy. I think I have decided on the French Bulldog, but I would like to know if anyone out there has owned one, and knows if they would make a good pet. This is what I am looking for....

They are the funniest, cutest dogs ever! I've owned different dogs in my life, but i never found one with such personality like my french bulldog. She's simply adorable and makes me laugh most of the day. They are very smart and friendly, they need a lot of attention, and they rather be with humans than with other dogs. Also very energetic and enjoy to eat a lot (but don't feed them more than once or twice a day, even if it seems like they are super hungry my dog would eat all day if she could). If you walk them once a day should be fine, make them run a little, mine does very little exercise and she looks pretty built, their bodies are meant like that. An important fact is that most french bulldogs can't swim, i know is weird, but even though they are small, their bodies are too heavy for the short legs to keep up, so i bought mine a life jacket and she's doing awsome. About pricing i know they can get very expensive but for me it was totally worth it, besides she'll soon have babies and each baby would sell for around 1000 so it makes up later on.

P.S.: By the way i would disagree that frenchies are expensive to mantain. I mean, all breeds have their pro/con, and sometimes it depends on your luck, sometimes you get a dog that's more prone to be healthy, or not. I been having 2 frenchies (male and female) and they haven't had any issues at all. However, maybe it would be a good idea when you buy them to ask the owners of the parents if they have ever had any health problems.
