inexpensive but attractive temp barrier around a pool?

Here's the thing. I have this pool right in the middle of my yard which is not big anyway. I LOVE animals and rescue older dogs so I always have to be outside with them for fear they'd fall in pool. No question I cannot afford a cover or pro fence. Do any of you have thoughts on what I could use to block edge (it's an OVAL shape so not simple) I just figure if I can get something high enough and portable to trim along edge so they will bump into in if they're sniffing along and go no further. Unfortunately it has to be as inexpensive as possible and since it's such a big part of the yard not terrible to look at?!?!? HELP many thanks for any ideas

Well, depending on if you have access to forested areas nearby, you might consider constructing a low "willow" fence, using vines and young supple braches, rather than willow, if there is no willow to be found.

Look up willow fences, and you'll see lots of examples of low, attractive, natural-looking barriers.

They won't stop a strong young dog who wants to get through/over it, but that sounds like it's not the situation you have.

You get the idea. It wouldn't have to be very tall if your dogs are not especially vigorous.
